Supergroup BTS sets new Youtube records with ‘Dynamite’!
UPDATE: On August 23, Youtube officially announced that the music video of BTS’ digital single ‘Dynamite’ recorded 111.1 million views within 24 hours. This is now the most viewed Youtube music video in the history of 24 hours.
On August 21, BTS released their new digital single titled ‘Dynamite‘, with over 3 million concurrent viewers during its premiere. This set a new all-time record for the biggest music video Premiere on Youtube overtaking ‘How You Like That’ of BLACKPINK who had 1.65 million concurrent viewers in June.
‘Dynamite’ music video had about 98.3 millions views after the first 24 hours of its release topping another BLACKPINK’s record for ‘How you Like That’ with 86.3 million views. As of this writing the MV has 131 million views, and continues to rise and top the platform’s trending list.
In addition, ‘Dynamite’ is the biggest debut in history for a Korean Act on US Spotify by having 1,824,254 plays topping 3rd rank. Meanwhile, it debuts at #1 on Spotify Global with 7,778,950 streams. Furthermore, the new single is now the fastest song on iTunes history to reach #1 in 103 xountries. BTS also becomes the first and only act to reach 100 #1’s on iTunes in three different languages.
Moreover, it’s the third time this year that BTS cracked up the top 10 for the first-day music video views, their MV for “ON” with 43.8 million views in the first 24 hours and has 1.54 million concurrent viewers on premiere. Along with that, is another video to promote the song, “ON Kinetic Manifesto Film: Come Prima”.
‘Dynamite’ is BTS’ first all-English track since their debut. The group released this new track with the hope of spreading vitality in difficult times, with the COVID-19.
BTS will perform the new single for the first time at the “2020 MTV Video Music Awards” on August 31. Meanwhile, it was reported they will release a remix version on August 24.
