BLACKPINK becomes a million seller with the most initial record ever for a K-pop girl group.
According to YG Entertainment on the 2nd, pre-orders for BLACKPINK’s first full-length album “The Album” has surpassed 1 million copies. The figure is a sum of orders around the world, with domestic orders of 670,000 and 340,000 from the U.S. and Europe as of today. In addition, 18,800+ limited edition LPs was sold. In total, the pre-orders exceeded 1 million.
BLACKPINK is heating up the global music market day after day before releasing its first full-length album. In particular, the music video teaser and tracklist drew fans’ surprise. This is because it was full of elements that made us expect musical perfection, including the participation of members Ji-soo and Jennie in writing and composing the title song, featuring top rapper Cardi B, and world-renowned producers.
