Super Junior KRY and Red Velvet appointed as global Korean Wave ambassadors.
On September 27, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that it will hold the “2020 Korean Culture Festival” from October 10 to November 29. This measure is a way to prevent the spread of coronacirus infections.

The “K-Culture Festival,” the first of its kind this year, designed to spread interest of Hallyu. It focuses on K-Pop and other parts of the country, with the aim of growing together with related industries. It also aims to improve the popularity of the Hallyu Wave under the new government’s “New Hallyu promotion Policy”.

Meanwhile, Super Junior K.R.Y. and Red Velvet appointed as the global Hallyu ambassadors. They will participate in promotional, marketing, and performances for the event. The festival will begin in October 10 at Incheon. It will promote K-Pop performances, local food representing Incheon, and popular tourist destinations.

In addition, K-pop acts will communicate with the audience in real time during “Online Travel with Viewers”. SBS Entertainment will release one video every day through YouTube. The visitors can experience the culture of four tourist hub cities, Mokpo, Jeonju, Gangneung and Andong.
Popular Korean celebrities will visit four cities as tour guides to introduce food, tourist attractions, and Hallyu content. Every Sunday night from November 8 to 29, K-pop performances will broadcast on the SBS channel.
Moreover, the company will push for an “Online Market Planning Exhibition,” a sales promotion event that promotes online K-pop performances for small and medium-sized enterprises and local companies suffering from COVID-19. During the month of November, related industrial products such as cosmetics, groceries and consumer goods will be discounted and local specialty products will be sold. K-pop singers and celebrities also plan to promote their products and attract consumers’ attention.
